How To Choose The Right Videographer

Choosing The Right Videographer

The moment has happened… the question was asked, and the planning begins! You find yourself searching google for every possible wedding vendor, becoming increasingly overwhelmed on how to choose the right person for you. In this post we want to provide insight on choosing the right videographer for you and your fiancé.

    1. What style of video best fits our personality?

This is one of the most important aspects when choosing any wedding videographer. You need to sit and think about who you are as a couple and how you want your day portrayed. Are you that upbeat adventures couple who wants to skydive during your ceremony, highlighting the most important aspects? Or are you looking for your fairy-tale ending like Cinderella, with every little detail portrayed through documentary style. When speaking with your videographer you want to have a style in mind and make sure they will be able to fulfill that for you.

    2. Do you have that connection?

On the day of your wedding, the butterflies in your stomach are fluttering and your emotions are already high. To avoid any uncomfortableness with your videographer setup a consultation to see if you mesh and feel at ease working with one another. It’s easy to avoid unnecessary tension on your wedding if you plan ahead.

    3. When should I be looking for my videographer?

The simple answer is RIGHT NOW! The last thing you want to do is find the perfect videographer, who’s style is exactly what you’re looking for, but is booked on your day. Speak with your wedding coordinator and photographer who might provide more insight for you, or help you narrow down your search.

   4. How much should I pay for a video?

Before answering this question you and your fiance need to decided how important is it to you? It’s always been said “ you get what you pay for”, and when it comes to wedding videography that motto applies. When the cake is eaten and the guests are gone home, how valuable is that piece of film that brings the emotions back to the best day of your life? That being said everyone has a budget and a videographer can range from $1000- $5000 just depending on the quality of work.

  1.  The Details…

Before reserving your videographer you need to know EXACTLY what you’re paying for. Are you getting one videographer or two? How is my video going to be delivered to me? Do I get to pick the song? What about all the extra footage? These are the most asked questions that every videographer should have an answer for. If they don’t then RUN, RUN far away!

Hopefully this post will help in choosing your ideal videographer. After its all said and done, remember you have 4 things that you will keep for the rest of your life; your spouse, wedding ring, your photos and wedding video. Don’t settle for anything but the best!
